How To Get Discounts to Broadway’s Newest Shows This Season

Fifteen Broadway shows have opening dates in March and April, 2018, the bulk of the 2017-2018 season. Tickets are made available to them for as little as $10, but more often about $40, which is still as much as about a 75 percent discount off full price. How does this work? Below, listed alphabetically, are the shows and the official ways to get (relatively) inexpensive tickets to them — including (but not limited to) in-person lottery, digital lottery, general rush (meaning showing up when the box office opens on the day of the performance), student rush (showing up when the box office opens and being a student), and standing room. Each show has its own pricing, and its own rules. In one, wearing pink can get you a discounted ticket!
I link the titles to my reviews for shows that have already opened as of this writing.
For descriptions of all of these shows and those opening Off-Broadway this month and last, check out my guides to New York theater openings in March 2018 and April 2018

Also, check out TDF TKTS half-price ticket booths, where the discounts aren’t as steep, but you’re more assured of getting them.
