About Me

This is Jonathan Mandell’s New York Theater blog, where you’ll read reviews and news about Broadway, Off-Broadway and independent theater (aka Off-Off Broadway), as well as digital theater, and occasionally some off-topic commentary.

NewYorkTheater.me offers weekly summaries of theater news, a monthly calendar of theater openings, monthly theater quizzes, and occasional ticket giveaways.  In this publication, I discuss issues in the arts, and books, and theater etiquette, and I crack jokes. But mostly, I write theater reviews.

I also Tweet as @NewYorkTheater, post videos on my YouTube page and use other social media (Links are at the top of the page.)
I’ve covered the theater, both reviews and feature stories, for a variety of publications including  Howlround,  DC Theatre Scene (now defunct), TDF Stages, and American Theatre Magazine. I am a member of the Drama Desk and the Outer Critics Circle. My reviews are aggregated on Show-Score.
