Election Week Broadway Schedule

See the Broadway performance schedule for the week of November 4 below.

All but a half dozen Broadway shows are canceling their performances on Tuesday, November 5 — Election Day — which should make it easier for theater makers and theatergoers alike to vote, and to watch the returns.

Several shows are also eliminating their Wednesday matinee. Most have added a performance on Monday, November 4, a day when they’re usually dark (lingo for not performing), and some have also added an extra performance on the following Sunday, November 10.

I’m not sure whether it’s ironic that one of the six shows that is still performing on Election night is “Suffs,” which is about the fight to give women the right to vote.

In the photographs above, taken in and around landmarks in all five boroughs of New York City during the election of 2016, the members of the dance troupe Pilobolus are contorting themselves in exhorting us to vote.
Early voting ends tomorrow, November 3. Election Day is November 5.
