Zachary Levi (“Chuck”) and Krysta Rodriguez (“Smash” and “The Addams Family”) star in “First Date,” a musical about a blind date, which will open at Broadway’s Longacre Theater on August 8.
On August 1, the cast braved the rain to perform three songs at the Broadway in Bryant Park lunchtime concert.
The downpour was at its most severe during the Zachary Levi/Krysta Rodriguez duet “First Impression” and there were a lot of poking umbrellas to content with. Showing it first would have made a bad impression.
Further description of the show: “Dinner is served with sides of Google background checks, fake emergency phone calls, supportive best friends, manipulative exes and protective parents, who sing and dance them through ice-breakers, appetizers and potential conversational land mines.”

I hear Mr. Levi is a Broadway Diva. Anyone who has seen the show was not impressed. They do like Krysta. Levi’s understudy is much better.
