Top 10 New York Theater of 2012 THAT YOU CAN STILL SEE

Top10Theater2012YouCanStillSee After I compiled the top ten lists of top ten theater of 2012, a reader asked me to point out which of these shows you can still see. It occurred to me that the answer was — almost none. This seemed sort of unfair

If I were to pick a list of shows that opened in New York City in 2012 that you can still see (as of this writing), it would be:

  1. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Scheduled to close February 24
  2. Falling, scheduled to close December 30
  3. A Christmas Story, scheduled to close December 30
  4. The Piano Lesson, scheduled to close January 13
  5. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, scheduled to close January 13
  6. Golden Boy, scheduled to close January 20
  7. Forbidden Broadway Alive and Kicking, scheduled to close April 28
  8. Once, open-ended
  9. Newsies, open-ended
  10.  Annie, open-ended

These are not the top 10 shows I saw in 2012. These are my selections for the top 10 shows I saw in 2012 that you can STILL SEE…if you hurry. Some are closing in little more than a week.
