“Maybe Happy Ending” is continuing its winning streak, as the Dorian Theater Award’s Outstanding Broadway Musical. “John Proctor is the Villain” was voted Outstanding Broadway Play, and its cast Outstanding Broadway ensemble. There was a tie for the unique Broadway Showstopper Award, Rose’s Turn from Gypsy and the title song of “Sunset Blvd.” The awards, chosen by the members of the theater wing of GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, celebrate both mainstream achievements and works that reflect LGBTQ+ themes and perspectives. André De Shields won two Dorians, for his role in Cats and as this year’s LGBTQ Theater Trailblazer
