Broadway in Bryant Park Returns

After skipping two summers because of the pandemics *, Broadway in Bryant Park, the free weekly lunchtime concerts by the casts from current Broadway shows, will return to Bryant Park with a full schedule in August — a tradition begun 22 years ago that I avidly chronicled for a decade. (See photographs and videos below of performances by Corey Cott, Phillipa Soo, Nick Cordero, Billy Porter, George Salazar and more.)

Perennial favorites including “The Lion King,” “Chicago,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Wicked” and “Stomp” are scheduled to perform alongside newcomers “A Strange Loop,” “Six” and “Funny Girl” in concerts every Thursday in August on the Bryant Park stage, which is located at Sixth Avenue between 40th and 42nd Streets. Lawn seating is first come, first serve. The concerts, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, are sponsored by 106.7 LITE FM. The schedule is subject to change.
