Although Gov. Cuomo shut down for a month all venues with 500 or more seats, which includes all of Broadway, that left the option of smaller venues staying open, but at 50 percent capacity.
Update Sunday March 15: Mayor de Blasio has ordered the shutting down of all remaining theaters as of Tuesday March 17. He is also closing schools as well as bars, nightclubs, and restaurants except for takeout and delivery. (Details.)
Here are the theaters and shows that have said they are going to continue their regularly scheduled performances through the rest of March. Do check that they haven’t changed their minds before going to the theater. And please take precautions to keep from contracting/ spreading infection.
