My cousin Bobby, a tie-dyed Deadhead, invited me to Madison Square Garden to see the free Dead & Company concert, which I found enough of an eye opener to write a piece for Howlround on the five lessons the Dead can teach theater.
To sum up: 1. free tickets, 2. free spirit, 3. a catchy label for fans, 4. t-shirts as an art form. 5. crowd control.
Below are photographs that illustrate several of the lessons, especially 2 and 4. Click on any photograph to see it enlarged.
