Update October 1, 2012: Rebecca has been postponed indefinitely, its producer announced, due to lack of financing.
Maxim de Winter brings his new wife home to his estate, Manderley. There she learns of the mystery of his first wife, now dead… Rebecca.
Based on the classic novel by Daphne du Maurier — which is best known for its film adaptation by Alfred Hitchcock — Rebecca the musical is scheduled to open at the Broadhurst Theater on Broadway on November 18th.
In the video below, Ryan Silverman (Cry-Baby, Phantom of the Opera) as Maxim and Jill Paice (Curtains, The 39 Steps, The Women in White) as his second wife, known only as “I”, sing two songs at the Broadway in Bryant Park concert of August 9, 2012. Paice sings “Free Now.” The two together sing “Help Me Through The Night.” It was the first time, Silverman told me, that the two had sung them in public.
