Poll: The Best and The Worst Movie Adaptation of a Broadway Musical

This year, when we’ve spent so much time looking at screens, was a banner year for movie adaptations of shows that originated on stage: “In The Heights,” “The Humans,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” most recently “tick, tick…BOOM!” and soon, Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story.” Some have been lauded. Some have been slammed.
But what of past years?
What have been the best and the worst movies ever made from Broadway musicals?
Below are two separate polls – best and worst. Pick your favorite from the ten nominated in each poll – or add one that’s not mentioned. Feel free as well to comment at length in the comments section at the bottom.
(Note: Separate polls could be made of adaptations that weren’t musicals, as well as the best and worst stage adaptations of movies. These are for another day.)
