The summit was a two-day event that included panel discussions, a speech by John Leguizamo, the formation of the Immigrant Arts Coalition — and the free concert at the Robert Wagner Jr. Park, the stage framed against a backdrop of New York Harbor, between the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

The dancers, singers, and musicians came from around the world (The I’s alone: Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Ivory Coast.)
