In Motown the Musical, his fifth Broadway show, Eric LaJuan Summers , plays six roles:
a member of the Four Tops
a member of the Contours
songwriter Brian Holland
a member of The Jackson 5,
and Rick James
But it is as Jackie Wilson that he is the most memorable.
Summers won Outstanding Male Dancer in a Broadway show at the 31st Annual Fred and Adele Astaire Awards this year.
Here he is in the final Broadway in Bryant Park lunchtime concert series this summer:
“If I’m not tired, I’m not doing my job right. I’m tired every day, and I love it.”
