Ticket Giveaway: Win two tickets to see “Kinky Boots,” the Broadway musical based on the 2005 film that tells the true story of a man who saves his family’s shoe factory by partnering with the fabulous female-impersonating entertainer Lola to manufacture some sturdy stilettos. The songs are written by Cyndi Lauper, best-known for “Time After Time” and “Girls Just Want To Have Fun,” making her Broadway songwriting debut, and the libretto is by Harvey Fierstein (Newsies, Torch Song Trilogy, etc.). The cast of 33 includes Stark Sands (American Idiot) and Billy Porter (Grease). It is directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, his 19th Broadway show.
“Kinky Boots” begins performances on March 3, 2013, and opens on April 4th at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theater.

I think Brittney Spears would be an interesting show! Her life is like its own soap opera so you have the drama down, just add the right songs and cast the perfect person to play Brittney. I think it would be pretty great. @TaylorNewsom96
I think that Ed Sheeran could write a pretty incredible musical about his own life. His literal rags to riches story could be really inspirational and his music is so emotional and almost theatrical already.

Taylor Swift writes, directs, and stars in The Musical Midas, where she plays a girl who cannot find love because every boy she kisses magically transforms into a catchy radio tune. Can she break the curse…or does she even want to? With a special appearance by Kanye West as the Evil King. @underwoodwrites
Metallica could create an outstanding show using their hits as well as new songs. With many of their songs based around fighting and battles, this show could be focused around war. It could be focused on soldiers going out to battle in Iraq and Afghanistan, their trials and tribulations, and about survival. I’d be the first in line. @bbwithpickles

I think Jay Z should create a hip hop musical, writing all the rhymes, and enlist someone to pen an original book. They did an MTV hip-hop-era of Carmen years back on TV, and it was pretty cool, but it would be amazing to have great rappers and singers tell an original story with hip hop live on stage! @HolliMari

I would love to see Rufus Wainwright write a show. It would be about a pouty self centered though sensitive boy in the process of trying to straighten out his life meets boy and his world opens up and he changes. He could star or Jonathan Groff could star in it.
Alanis Morissette could compose a thrilling score for a stage production I bet. Think mostly her ‘Jagged Little Pill’ album for a point of reference. The plot could be centered around a girl, in a coming-of-age story style. I see it preferably set in the 90’s haha.
