What a terrible, politically correct mess. How sad that it was felt necessary to update the story by adding subplots involving every learning theme out there: helping the poor; the responsibility to vote; democracy vs. monarchy; discovering yourself; the list goes on. Imagine a story where trying on the glass slipper is secondary to voting for a new prime minister…..is there no place left for good music and simple fairy tales?
